How to use the pump

In the morning

Turning on the pump, starting it and administering the morning dose

  1. Press the "ON/OFF" key once. The pump will initiate the program and the set values, which takes about 30 seconds. The display will show "STOPPED", which means that the pump is not engaged, infusion is not started.

  2. Press and hold down the "STOP/START" key until the three-dash pattern disappears from the display. The pump will again initiate the set values, which takes about 15 seconds. The display will now show "RUN", which means that the pump is engaged and administering the continuous dose.

  3. Press the "MORNING DOSE" key once. The display will show the set morning dose.

  4. Press the "MORNING DOSE" key again. The pump will now first administer the morning dose and then, automatically, start administering the continuous dose.

The pump is not engaged if when you press the "MORNING DOSE" key the display shows "LL0". Action: Press "NEXT" and follow the instructions from step 2 above.

In the evening

Stopping the pump, turning it off and rinsing the tube

  1. To stop the pump, press and hold down the "START/STOP" key until a three-dash pattern appears on the display.

  2. Disconnect the pump.

  3. Attach an adapter to the tube and rinse with ca 20 ml of ordinary water, cold or tepid—follow local treatment instructions. Some transitory resistance is usually felt when the first few milliliters are being injected.

  4. Take a new cassette out of the refrigerator; connect it to the pump and store in darkness overnight. (Things are easier if in the morning the new cassette is already attached to the pump).
